Catherine is a lawyer with over 30 years' experience in human rights issues. She was a member of the Governing Council of the National Human Rights Commission and has served in several Presidential Committees of the Federal Government. Catherine also helped draft several legal instruments with the African Union. As the first Nigerian woman to become Chair of the African Commission she carried out many promotional missions across the African continent, and ensured that the African voice was heard at the United Nations. In 2015 she gained honorary citizenship of Georgia in recognition of her enormous contributions, and her fight in upholding the rights of consumers in Nigeria.
