Kate McKee is a Senior Policy Advisor at CGAP (the global financial inclusion resource centre) who leads work on responsible digital finance, identifying critical consumer risks in using digital financial services and industry and regulatory measures to ensure transparency, fair treatment and effective recourse. Kate worked with the Ford Foundation in West Africa and New York on the delivery of innovative financial services in the US, including the start-up of a government initiative for Community Development Financial Institutions. She also led the Microenterprise Development office at the US Agency for International Development (USAID). Kate is a development economist (MPIA Princeton University). Among other roles, she chaired the Consumer Advisory Council of the U.S. Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve
