Norma Paz García is a Senior Attorney and manages the Financial Services Programme for Consumers Union and the policy and advocacy division of Consumer Reports. Since joining Consumers Union’s staff in 1992, Norma has become a recognised national and international expert in mortgage lending, credit, finance and insurance, regulatory law and policy. In 2010 she served on special assignment at the London office of Consumers International where she helped to mobilise organisations around the globe to compel the Group of 20 Finance Ministers, (the G-20) to protect consumers from abusive financial services marketplace practices. She received her law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of Law and her BA from the University of California at Irvine.
